HALLOWEEN
Halloween is a holiday in many English speaking countries that is celebrated on the night of October 31st. Children wear costumes and they go to people's homes saying "Trick or treat?" to ask for candy and then people give it to them.
The word Halloween comes from Hallowe'en. This is a contraction of All Hallow's Eve. All Hallows Eve is the day before the Catholic All Saints holy day, that was once called All Hallows (All Hallowed Souls). Hallowed means holy.
Do you celebrate Halloween? How?
